Introduction
digital diary is a platform for the ones who feel things deeply, who are doing the work, and who still need the occasional reminder that they are not alone in it. Built around the belief that connection is fundamental to human life, it exists to create a space where people can slow down, check in, and build a relationship with themselves through honest, consistent practice.
Founded by Kareena, digital diary grew from a lifelong habit of journaling as a way to process what could not always be said out loud. What began as a private outlet has evolved into an open, shared space, one that pairs personal storytelling, film photography, and written reflection to document the full spectrum of human experience. The name, always lowercase and intentional, says exactly what it is: a diary, made digital, and made for everyone who has ever felt like their experience was too much, or not enough, to bring into the light.
The Concept
The identity for digital diary is built around the belief that self-reflection is a quiet, personal act, and every design decision honors that. The primary logo is set in a refined serif with visible contrast between thick and thin strokes, editorial and literary in feeling, like a well-loved book or a journal passed down through time. Lowercase throughout, it stays approachable and human, as comfortable on a screen as it is pressed into the cover of something physical.
The brand mark takes the two d's of digital diary and curves them into each other, tracing the shape of leaves, wings, or an open bloom. What reads first as nature quietly reveals itself as something more personal. Like a butterfly at rest or two pages of an open journal, the forms hold a sense of duality: the self that writes and the self that reflects. A central stem anchors it all, grounding the softness without constraining it. Considered, calm, and full of quiet meaning for those who take a moment to look.
“There are so many things you don't consider when looking to brand and create a style guide, which is exactly why having an expert like Nhu is so valuable. She made the entire process easy and seamless, exactly what I needed as we brought this brand to life.”
